Homecoming is an American psychological thriller web television series, based on the podcast of the same name created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg. The first season starring Julia Roberts in lead, premiered on 2 Nov 2018 on Amazon Prime Video. It received tremendous response and the fans are now waiting for the next season. The thrilling and intriguing thriller drama was originally ordered for two seasons. Homecoming season 2 will feature a new story with new characters. As the premiere date comes close, here’s listing everything we know so far about Homecoming season 2.
Homecoming Season 2 Plot
As we mentioned above, season 2 will feature a new story. Janelle Monáe will lead the star cast. There will be no Julia Roberts. The season 2 will be a “fresh new mystery” which incepts when Janelle Monáe wakes in a rowboat lost in a lake. She has lost her memory and is unaware of how she got there and show she is. The thrilling web series will once again answer some intriguing questions.

Homecoming Season 2 Cast
Julia Roberts wouldn’t be starring in the second season of Homecoming. She has a one-year deal to star in the show. She will, however, remain on board as an executive producer.
American singer and actress Janelle Monáe who has previously worked in movies including Moonlight and Hidden Figures is in the lead role. Two new important characters are introduced. Oscar-winner Chris Cooper as Leonard Geist, the company’s eccentric founder; and Emmy-winner Joan Cusack as Francine Bunda, an equally eccentric military woman.
According to Deadline, “Stephan James reprises his role as Walter Cruz, trying to build a new life following the traumas of war and the Homecoming Initiative when he begins to realize that there’s an even more insidious version of the program underway – if only he can remember.”
What happened in the first season?
Based on the podcast of the same name, Homecoming season 1 featured Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts) as a social worker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center. It is a live-in facility to help veteran soldiers transition to civilian life.
Four years later, Bergman has started a new life working as a waitress but has difficulty remembering her time at Homecoming. After a U.S. Department of Defense auditor inquires as to why she left Homecoming, she discovers that the Homecoming isn’t actually helping the soldiers. It is actually deleting their memories so that the government can’t redeploy them.

Homecoming season 2 release date
Kyle Patrick Alvarez directs the second season. It arrives on Amazon Prime Video on 22nd May 2020. As per the reports we have season 2 is more expansive than the first with much of the action taking place outside of the Homecoming Transitional Support Center.
