Second highest grosser of Bollywood 2014: Holiday beats 2 States
Holiday continued to perform well at Box Office even in third week of its release. The movie collected around 2.65 crores on its 17 th day i.e third Sunday. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha starer action thriller thus becomes the second highest grosser of Bollywood 2014 beating 2 States lifetime collections of 104 crores. Holiday now stands at domestic Box Office collection of 105 crores.
Holiday is performing well ever since its day of release. The movie is still going strong at Box Office despite being the release of Sajid Khan multistarer comic caper Humshakals. Holiday raked in around 5 crores in it third weekend with breakdown as 1.02 crores, 1.87 crores, 2.65 crores on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Holiday has now the chance to become the top grosser of Bollywood 2014. It requires another 6 crores to beat the lifetime collection of Salman Khan’s Jai Ho(111 crores). In order to beat Jai Ho, the movie has to perform well in its third week. Holiday is expected to perform decently in the coming week as this week release Humshakals has received poor reviews from critics as well as audience. Holiday has only this week to take advantage at Box Office as we have the most awaited Ek Villian to be released next Friday.
Grand success of Holiday comes as a true delight for Akshay Kumar and his fans. Holiday is the third movie of Akshay Kumar to enter Bollywood’s 100 crore elite club. Others being Rowdy Rathode with 133.25 crores and Housefull 2 with 106 crores. Sonakshi Sinha also has a reason to celebrate as it is her 5th movie to enter 100 crore club. Others being Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Son of Sardar and Rowdy Rathode.
