1. Karachi, You’re Killing Me!
Noor is based on the bestseller novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me! It is a comedy crime-thriller novel penned by Pakistani journalist-writer Saba Imtiaz. The story revolves around a 20-year old reporter Ayesha Khan, who lives in Karachi. The novel is all about her misadventures and her quest for a nice lover.
2. The author Saba Imtiaz
Saba Imtiaz is a Pakistani author, journalist, music-critic and screenwriter from Karachi. She has worked for The News International and The Express Tribune in the past and is currently writing for The New York Times, The Guardian and The Christian Science Monitor. Karachi, You’re Killing Me! is her debut novel published in 2014. She has also written the script of an upcoming film Dekh Magar Pyar Se.
3. Sonakshi Sinha as Ayesha Khan
Sonakshi Sinha plays the title role of a 20-year-old journalist, Ayesha Khan, living in Karachi. Set in Mumbai, the film will capture Noor’s journey and her relationships, career, aspirations, friendships, choices, infatuations, insecurities and dilemmas as she comes of age. The film follows Pakistani journalist-writer Noor’s misadventures and love life as she navigates her way through Mumbai
4. Director Sunhil Sippy
Ramesh Sippy’s nephew Sunhil Sippy made his debut as a filmmaker with the unsuccessful film Snip! 16 years ago. After keeping himself busy with ad making, Sunhil is returning as a director with Noor and it is going to be interesting to see how it turns out.
5. Cast
The film has an interesting star-cast apart from Sonakshi. Famous Youtuber and comedian Kanan Gill will be making his debut in the role of Saad Sehgal. Other than him we will get to see Shibani Dandekar as Zara Patel and Purab Kohli as Ayan Banerjee.
