The movie released in 2500 all over India and saw an occupancy of around 15%. This low occupancy rate was due to a competition from Hindi Medium and Bahubali 2, which is still going quite strong on the big screens.

Half Girlfriend had a number of things going in its favour like the presence of Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Chetan Bhagat’s story and presented by the makers of Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, but all these factors were not able to attract much of the crowd into the multiplexes.

Half Girlfriend collected a total of Rs 10.27 crore on the first day and this is higher than the first-day collection of Arjun’s Ki & Ka and Shraddha’s Ok Jaanu. Considering the fact that the movie released in a total of 2500 screens, this number is not so high.

Half Girlfriend Budget and Economics

The total budget of Half Girlfriend is 48 crores and in order to make it to the list of hit films, the movie needs to collect a total of at least 50 crores. According to the makers of Half Girlfriend, they have already recovered an amount of 30 crores through music, satellite, overseas and digital rights.
