Govinda Claimed That He Suggested The Title ‘Avatar’ To It's Director James

Avatar, the movie that was released in the year 2009 was the highest-grossing movie ever until recently Marvel’s Avengers’ Endgame took away its 10-year reign to become the highest-grossing movie. 

Bollywood actor, Govinda recently, appeared on Rajat Sharma’s talk show ‘Aap ki Adalat’, where he went on to reveal many shocking and interesting thing related to him and movies. However, there was this one revelation from him that left everyone in shock.

During the show, Govinda revealed that the title of the movie Avatar was given by him. Yes, you read that right. Govinda claimed that he has suggested the title of the movie and not just this, he even predicted to the director of the movie that the movie will get delayed by many years. He said:

“I gave the title of the film. It turned out to be a super hit film. I had informed him that the film would do really well. I told him that I felt it would take seven years for him to complete the film. That infuriated him. He asked, ‘How can you be so sure that I won’t be able to make Avatar for seven years?’ I told him that what he was imagining was something almost impossible. And as predicted by me, the film released 8 or 9 years later and was a super-hit,”

The actor revealed that he was also offered the role in the movie, however, as it was the demand of the script that the body needs to be painted in blue, he refused the role. He said:

He wanted me to shoot for 410 days. For someone like me, to get painted all over the body was something I could not do. So, I apologized. But like I said, the film went onto become a super hit,

Furthermore, the actor also revealed that he was also offered many blockbuster movies including Taal, Devdas and many others.
