Netflix’s dramedy series Ginny & Georgia follows the lives of Georgia (Brianne Howey) and her children. The story begins when Kenny, Georgia’s husband, dies and the family moves to Wellsbury, where a new life begins. In the wake of numerous failed marriages, Georgia has moved to Wellsbury. A particular concern of hers is her adolescent daughter, Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry), who is still quite impressionable. Ginny and Georgia’s relationship forms the core of the narrative.

Filming for Ginny and Georgia Season 2 Wrapped Up in April 2022
In April 2021, Netflix officially confirmed that Ginny & Georgia will return for the second season through a video that featured the show’s actors. You can check the video below:
In a statement released by the creators of the show, Debra J. Fisher and Sarah Lampert, said, “All of you have offered Ginny & Georgia a great amount of support, which we are so grateful for. Thank you, Brianne and Toni, for setting the bar high every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for season 2.”
The global pandemic played a major role in delaying the filming of the second season. The filming started on Nov 29, 2021, and was wrapped up on April 23, 2022, according to an Instagram post by Antonia Gentry.
In August 2022, showrunner Sarah Lampert shared an update on the status of Ginny & Georgia season 2. Posting an image on the show’s behind-the-scenes Instagram account, gngbts, Lampert almost confirmed that the post-production on the second season is almost finished.

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Plot
Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia on Netflix is likely to include more characters from the past. The series will also challenge Georgia as more of her actions in the past will be revealed.
It’s obvious that Zion will want to get back in touch with Georgia now that he’s back. So, Paul is frustrated. The protagonist of Ginny & Georgia season 1 suggests that she keep running.
Ginny & Georgia season 2 appears to be her return to Wellsbury and reunion with her “MANG” comrades.
The show’s first season featured Ginny and Georgia’s utter lack of understanding. Ginny sees the world completely differently from Georgia. It is something Georgia will never understand.
Additionally, Ginny has no idea what sacrifice and pain Georgia endured to get Ginny to Wellsbury. By failing to understand each other, they have plenty of chances to hurt each other’s feelings.
Season 1 ended with a tumultuous cliffhanger that saw Ginny taking her brother Marcus (Mallard) and escaping the house in fear of her mom after she realized that Georgia had poisoned her ex-husband for sexually abusing Ginny.
Ginny & Georgia season 2 will pick up after that cliffhanger. In January 2022, Aaron Ashmore joined the cast for the second season. Ashmore will be playing Gil Timmins (Georgia’s ex and Austin’s father). His role is going to be important as it’s possible that Ginny would take shelter with him. Another potential plot point is that Gil might add to the troubles of the mother-daughter duo.
Ginny needs as many options as she can so she doesn’t become like Georgia. Ginny, in the process, becomes more independent. However, she does learn to speak for herself. As the second season unfolds, Ginny and Georgia may begin to recognize their similarities.
