Fitoor continues to struggle – second day Box Office collection

Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Fitoor witnessed a growth of around 20% on the second day but that wasn’t enough to save the day.

After a disastrous opening day with the collection of 3.61 crores, Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif’s intense love saga, Fitoor remained low on its second day. The movie witnessed a growth of 20% on Saturday but that wasn’t enough to save the day. Ideally, the movie should have shown a growth of 40% to have any chance at the Box Office. As per the reports coming in, Fitoor collected only 4.25 crores on the second day. The movie now stands at the total collection of 7.86 crores which is poor considering the names associated with it.

Released on 1224 screens across the country, the movie is performing best in high-end multiplexes and metros like Delhi and Mumbai. Fitoor has been seriously affected by the two other releases of the week, Deadpool and Sanam Re. Sanam Re had better of Fitoor in mass centers and small cities while Hollywood movie Deadpool remains the first choice for in metros and high-end multiplexes. (Read: Sanam Re second-day collection)

Fitoor has received mixed reviews from the critics while the WOM from the general audience has been poor. The budget of the movie is around 55 crores and it considering the current trend, we are quite assured that it will struggle in coming days. Fitoor may end up its Box Office journey as the first disaster of 2016.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and starring Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapur and Tabu, Fitoor is an adaptation of Charles Dicken’s ‘Great Expectations’.
