As expected the three new releases of the week are off to a disaster opening. Check the first day collection of Kaalakandi, Mukkabaaz and 1921.
The fever of Tiger Zinda Hai is almost over but still there is no movie which can create even 1/10 of its impact at the box office. As expected, the three new releases of the week, Kaalakandi, Mukkabaaz and 1921 are off to a disastrous opening. Such low openings were always on the cards as none of the three releases is in accordance with the sensibilities of Hindi cinema lovers.
Kaalakandi looks more of a European movie. Despite decent reviews from critics, the movie seems to have no chance at the box office. As per early estimates, the first day collection of Kaalakandi will be around 1 crores. It will be Saif Ali Khan’s sixth consecutive disaster at the box office.
Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz was always expected to struggle as this is what actually happened on day 1. Like most Anurag Kashyap movies, Mukkabaaz has received good reviews. It has been the case with all Anurag Kashyap movies. His movies get cherry points from critics and media but struggle badly at the box office. Mukkabaaz will follow the same trend. The first day collection of the movie will be around 1 crore.
The only hope of this week was Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 but that film too is facing release issues in at big multiplexes chain. Starring Karan Kundra and Zareen Khan, the movie has received pathetic reviews. The first day collection of 1921 will be around 1 crores and it will be a box office disaster.
Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai remained the first choice for the cinema goers. As per early estimates, the movie earned around 1.4 crores on its 22nd day. The total collection of the movie stands at 320.26 crores. Today, it will beat the lifetime numbers of Bajrangi Bhaijaan to become the highest grossing movie of Salman Khan.
