Firefly Lane Season 2 just concluded filming and is all set to make its way to Netflix. Here’s the release date, plot, cast, and other information.

Firefly Lane is an American drama TV series on Netflix created by Maggie Friedman. It adapts Kristin Hannah’s novel of the same name. Set in the 1970s, it revolves around the lives of two teenage girls, Tully Hurt (Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke). The series premiered on February 3, 2021, with the first season comprising 10 episodes in all. Firefly Lane Season 2 got an announcement later in May 2021, and the fans have been eagerly waiting for it ever since. Well, let’s see what we have for you.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date

The cast of Firefly Lane announced on May 26, 2021, through a Zoom call, that the series has been renewed for a second season. The filming began on August 30, 2021, in Vancouver and concluded recently on April 28, 2022. Although we don’t have a release date or even a teaser or trailer yet, we do know that it is coming this year only. Katherine Heigl confirmed this in August 2021. See the tweet below.

We think that Firefly Season 2 will not be premiering anytime soon. The filming just got concluded and it will go through the post-production process now, which will take a while. So if you’re expecting season 2 to release soon, don’t expect it to come anytime before October or November 2022.

Plot Details for Season 2

Spoilers follow for Firefly Lane Season 1

As of now, there is no official plot synopsis for the second season. However, we can predict what plot Firefly Lane Season 2 will follow. The first season left behind several questions that seemingly, the second season will answer. Just when Tully and Kate start to come close, and their relationship grows stronger, we are taken ahead to the future where we see Tully and Kate meeting each other at a funeral. Well, things are not good between them now as Kate says he never wants to see Tully again.

Firefly Lane Season 2

Apparently, that funeral was for Kate’s father, Bud Mularkey. Maybe that was the reason behind Kate hating Tully, or maybe something else, we’ll see that in the second season. We will also see what happens to Tully’s career if she gave that position to Kate. Besides, if you’re too eager to know what happens next, you can always read the Firefly Lane novel by Kristin Hannah.

Trailer and Episode Updates

Well, the season just wrapped up its filming, so maybe it’s too early to ask for a trailer. Although, we will soon get an official teaser or first look at Firefly Lane Season 2.

Coming to the Episode Updates, we know that Michael Spiller, Winnifred Jon, Shannon Kohli, and Katina Medina Mora are directing episodes in season 2. Although not yet been confirmed officially, we do have the episode titles, as uploaded on IMDb.
