Firangi Box Office Prediction: Kapil Sharma’s Film Will Struggle For Big Numbers

Firangi Box Office Prediction: Kapil Sharma's Film Will Struggle For Big Numbers
Kapil Sharma in Firangi

Ace comedian Kapil Sharma made his Bollywood debut with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karun in 2015. The movie was a box office hit. After the success of the first first film, Kapil decided to make another film. Directed by Rajeev Dhingra, Kapil’s next Firangi is a period action-comedy drama film. Produced by Kapil Sharma, Firangi is scheduled for release on 1 Dec 2017 and it will clash with Arbaaz Khan’s Tera Intezaar. Let’s have a detailed look at Firangi box office prediction.

Firangi box office prediction: Hype and buzz

Kapil is going through a rough phase of his career and this is probably the biggest reason that the film hasn’t been able to create any hype. Despite aggressive promotion, the movie hasn’t created much curiosity all thanks to boring trailer. Comic period drama is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Moreover, Kapil Sharma’s popularity has seen a big fall in the last couple of months.

Made on a budget of around 30 crores including promotion and publicity. Kapil’s first film was a hit because of several reasons like big director, decent film, evergreen comic genre etc. Firangi seems to have several issues which will definitely affect it at the box office:

  1. Hype and buzz surrounding the movie is low.
  2. Less known star cast:  Monica Gill and Ishita Dutta will be seen opposite Kapil. Both of them are new in the industry.
  3. New director:  This is Rajeev Dhingra’s debut Bollywood film. Rajeev has earlier directed punjabi film ‘Love Punjab’ which was a moderate hit.
  4. Clash with Tera Intezaar and then there is a most awaited Fukrey Returns slated for release on 8 Dec 2017.
  5. Music plays an important role in getting good initials. Firangi is down on that front as well.

Opening Day, Week and Lifetime Collection Prediction Of Firangi

Considering all the above points it is clear that Firangi will be having a tough time at the box office. As per our prediction, the first day collection of the film will be around 2.5 to 3.5 crores. Made on a budget of around 30 crores, Firangi needs to make 40+ crores to be called a hit at the box office.

If the film get good reviews then there are chances that it may emerge as moderate hit at the box office. This looks tough as the buzz is low and the film looks quite boring. Here is our final prediction:

Opening Day: 2.5 to 3.5 crores
First weekend: 12 to 14 crores
First Week: 20 to 22 crores
Lifetime: less than 30 crores

Kapil Sharma’s debut film Kis Kisko Pyar Karun was a big hit at the box office. Made on a budget of 23 crores, the movie made 49.38 crores in its lifetime.
