Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay has finally crossed the 100 crores mark at the domestic Box Office. The movie took 31 days to reach this milestone.
Shivaay was released on 28 Oct 2016 along with Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The movie performed well in the first week earning 70.41 crores. In its third week, the movie was severely affected by the demonetization of Rs 500, 1000 notes. The impact was more than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as Shivaay was collecting mainly in mass centres. Talking bout profit/loss, despite earning 100 crores Shivaay is a flop at the Box Office. The movie was made on a budget of 120 crores (including advertising, promotions costs). We will update the detailed verdict of the movie in coming days.
Shivaay is Ajay Devgn’s sixth 100 crores grosser. Earlier his films Son of Sardar, Golmaal 3, Singham, Singham Returns and Bol Bachchan has made it to the 100 crore club. Ajay Devgn has now joined Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh to be the actor with most 100 crore grossers. Salman Khan’s tops the list with 10 movies.
