Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Recap
The seventh season of the spin-off of The Walking Dead started its premiere last year. While it continued to run till June 2022. In the latest season, we saw Morgan and his group in trouble. They were all here and there across the land of Texas. The trouble for them was however due to Teddy and his group.
Teddy Maddox’s blasting of a nuclear bomb caused a big change in the atmosphere. There was a scene where we see the clash of ideas between Morgan and Victor Strand. As everyone tried to figure out how to deal with the explosion, Alicia returns from her bunker prison only to declare war on Strand.
Hopefully, now the story is believed to move ahead with its storyline. Hence, we await another season. But the big question is, will there be Fear The Walking Dead Season 8?
Will there be Fear The Walking Dead Season 8?
As of Aug 27,2022, 101 episodes of Fear the Walking Dead have aired, concluding the seventh season. Well, the long-running spin-off of ‘The Walking Dead’ that debuted in 2015 has been renewed for the eighth season.
AMC announced the renewal on Dec 5, 2021, on Talking Dead following the Season 7 fall finale of The Walking Dead spinoff as per Deadline.
It was revealed that Kim Dickens would be reprising her role of Alicia’s mother, who’s been thought to be dead since way back in Season 4.
Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Release Date
There has been no official update regarding the premiere date of the eighth season. Considering the release schedule of the previous two seasons, one would expect the eighth season to premiere in Oct 2022.
However, the studio behind The Walking Dead franchise is super busy with The Walking Dead Season 11 Part 3. The 8-episode chapter will serve as the finale of the series and will air on AMC from October to November 2022.
Therefore, it’s doubtful that the studio would like to air a new season of Fear the Walking Dead too close to the finale of the main series. So, we are expecting Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 to premiere in 2023.
Fear The Walking Dead Season 8: Who Will Return?
All characters that were alive in the seventh season would return for the next season. Thus, the main characters Morgan (Lennie James), Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), and Madison (Kim Dickens) will return for the 8th season.
Other characters likely to return are Dwight (Austin Amelio), Luciana (Danay Garcia), June (Jenna Elfman), Daniel (Rubén Blades), Grace (Karen David), and Sarah (Mo Collins).
Alycia Debnam-Carey will not reprise her role as Alicia in the next season. The actor confirmed she had appeared in her final episode in season 7, asserting “it was time to move on as an actor and as a person,” in an Instagram post.
Though Alicia won’t star in the next season, her mother Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) would be reprising her role. She has been thought to be dead since way back in Season 4. Expect some new characters to get introduced in the next season.
Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Plot
It is difficult to predict the storyline of the next season as The Walking Dead is a vast franchise with different fronts. However, the return of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) will be a huge plot point for the next season.
One of the prominent characters of the first four seasons was assumed to be dead. However, she made a comeback in the final episode of the seventh season, and is certainly, alive. Eventually, we see her with a story about how she survived and what connection she holds with the villains.
In season 7, Alicia appeared to be surrendering to a mysterious infection that she feared would result in her becoming a zombie. However, she overcomes the illness and conforms to Victor. She then embarks on her own journey.
Alicia won’t be returning for the next season as confirmed by her. So, we may have seen the last of her character in the series.
You never know what might happen in the next season. Yet they are mere speculations as of now and hence we must wait for the real plot.
Has filming begun for season 8?
On Aug 8, 2022, the creative team behind Fear The Walking Dead announced that the filming for season 8 has already begun. That certainly has given assurance to the viewers that season eight is on track.
As such we can hope for a season 8 officially to happen and it might arrive next year if there’s no delay due to the original series The Walking Dead finale release.
Is there any trailer out for season 8?
After the seventh season of Fear The Walking Dead, we didn’t get any announcement about its eighth season. Yet, now we know the filming has begun. Though right now it’s too early to have a trailer for season 8.
Yet, it would drop when the filming for the season is wrapped up or is about to wrap up. Hence, expect it most likely to arrive next year or the earliest you may have it towards the end of this year.
