Evil Season 4: Release Date, Cast, Plot & Everything We Know

Evil Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger and made way for another thrilling season. Here is everything we know about Evil Season 4, including its release date.

Yes, you are correct. Evil season 4 is coming. So it’s time to rearrange your calendar so that you won’t have to get up before it’s over. No more waiting; here is all the information you need to know about the forthcoming season.

Evil Season 4 Renewal Updates

The show originally aired on CBS during season 1 before making the move over to the streamer. Season 1 premiered on CBS on Sept 26, 2019. From season 2, which debuted on June 20, 2021, the series has been streaming on Paramount Plus. Season 3 premiered on June 12, 2022, and concluded on August 14, 2022.

Halfway through its third season, Evil was renewed for a fourth season on July 6, 2022. Well, the renewal came as no surprise because Evil is still one of the top-ranked original series on Paramount Plus. The third season of the series received a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nicole Clemens, the current President of Paramount Television Studios (PTVS) and Paramount Plus Original Scripted Series, subsequently said in a statement: “Evil continues to expand its fanbase of both critics and viewers alike. Season three currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is a consistent top five most-watched original series and acquisition driver for the service. We couldn’t be more excited to be terrified by what Robert and Michelle create for season four with our outstanding cast bringing it to life.”

Does Evil Season 4 Have A Release Date?

As of October 2023, the exact release date for Evil Season 4 remains unknown.

The production for season 4 started in December 2022 and concluded in May 2023 ahead of schedule, reportedly due to an unnamed cast member leaving the show for personal matters and the disruption caused by the writers’ strike.

According to Variety’s report, filming concluded ahead of schedule, suggesting that the available footage may be limited. Season 4 was initially supposed to have 10 episodes but this early schedule wrap-up might have implications on the season’s episode count, but we’ll need to wait and see for confirmation.

In May 2023, writer Starlee Kline took to Twitter to share that production on Evil season 4 had been shut down, explaining: “A handful of us walking in a tiny circle cost them the day’s shoot. We were told the producers were pissed.”

While the writers’ strike has concluded, the actors are currently engaged in a strike, which is expected to have some influence on the potential release date of the fourth season of Evil. Considering these circumstances, it is probable that Evil Season 4 will not be released until at least 2024.

Evil Season 4 Plot

Evil Season 4’s official synopsis has not yet been made public. The spooky television program, however, will probably continue where season 3 ended. Season 3 concluded on a cliffhanger of cliffhangers.

For the last few episodes, RMS Fertility and the mystery of Kristen’s missing egg have been in focus. By eventually revealing what happened to it, the season 3 finale somewhat resolved that plotline but still, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Evil season 4 will certainly focus on the implications Leland’s actions have for Kristen. In season 3, she had a dream about a demon infant, which she breastfed and cared for despite being scared of it. Meanwhile, David needs to interpret the message “38 days, woe to Babylon” while Kristen deals with this bizarre circumstance.

During their conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Robert and Michelle King, the creators, delved into what viewers can anticipate in the upcoming season. The interview affirmed that the new season will immediately continue from where the season 3 finale left off.

One of the things that excites us is going the more normal route with things that are usually very dramatic in horror or supernatural shows,” Robert King teased of season 4. “The Omen and The Antichrist have thunderclouds and earthquakes and the horsemen of the apocalypse. But it’s a baby — and babies are nightmare enough. You don’t need lightning and thunder and all that. Babies vomit on their own! They don’t need to have the devil inside them to be vomiting pea soup!

As per the creators, season 4 will prominently feature the theme of science. Robert King explained, “We aimed for each episode to explore the boundaries of science and when it ventures into the realm of mystery. That transition can be quite disconcerting. The mysterious elements are what truly prevent one from feeling entirely comfortable in the world.”

Evil Season 4 Cast

Katja Herbers, who plays Dr. Kristen Bouchard in the series, and  Mike Colter, who plays David Acosta, both announced on Instagram that they will both be back for Season 4. They quickly posted the news of the renewal to their social media sites to express how happy they were about it.

The actor who portrays Dr. Kurt Boggs, Kurt Fuller, announced on Twitter that he will also be coming back. Aasif Mandvi, who plays contractor Ben Shakir is also coming back.

Unfortunately, no additional cast information for Evil Season 4 is available at this time. However, Michael Emerson (Leland), Christine Lahti (Sheryl), Brooklyn Shuck (Lynn), and Skylar Gray (Lila) have been actively promoting Season 3 through their individual social media platforms.

How many episodes will be there in Evil Season 4?

Similar to Season 3, the fourth season is expected to have 10 episodes. However, early schedule wrap-up might have implications on the season’s episode count. The latest information on IMDb Pro indicates that the upcoming season will consist of nine episodes. We’ll update this article once Paramount+ confirms the exact number of episodes.

Robert King & Michelle King will be back as executive producers and writers to deliver yet another spine-chilling season.
