Drishyam 2 Hindi remake: The producer of Drishyam’s Hindi remake Kumar Mangat has bagged the Hindi remake rights of Drishyam 2.
Malayalam film Drishyam has become a phenomenon across the country. Released in 2013, The Mohanlal starrer thriller received unanimously positive reviews and huge commercial success. Such is the popularity of the film is that it was remade in several Indian and foreign languages.
The Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn in a lead role was released in 2015. It was a commercial success and is regarded as one of the best thrillers of Bollywood. Even after six years of its release, fans are talking about it. Now that a sequel to original Malayalam film is all set to release, fans are questioning if there will be a sequel to Hindi version as well.
Directed by Jeetu Joseph, Drishyam 2 is all set to release on Feb 19, 2021. The trailer has been released and the excitement is already sky-high. For Bollywood lovers, there is some exciting news coming up. Latest reports suggest that there is going to be Drishyam 2 Hindi remake.
Kumar Mangat bags Hindi remake rights
The producer of Drishyam’s Hindi remake Kumar Mangat has bagged the Hindi remake rights of Drishyam 2. Talking about the same, a source told Pinkvilla, “Drishyam is a very special film for Kumar ji and he wanted to make sure that he bags the rights of Drishyam 2 as well. However, there is no clarity on who will direct and act in the Hindi version of Drishyam 2.”
Drishyam Hindi was directed by Nishikant Kamat who passed away last year after prolonged liver disease. So, a new director will come on board for the sequel. Kumar would be hoping to get the original star cast on board as it will help the audience connecting with them.
Drishyam Hindi remake starred Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Kamlesh Sawant and others. it grossed Rs 110+ crore worldwide.
