After her Tamil debut opposite the South Megastar Rajinikanth with ‘Kochadaiyaan’, Deepika Padukone is all set to star in an another high-budget Tamil movie. The film will be Deepika’s third attempt at periodic dramas after ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmavati’.

South director Sundar C’s next multilingual project will be titled ‘Sangamithra’. Sundar’s upcoming film is touted to be India’s most expensive film and will reportedly surpass the budget of Enthiran and Baahubali: The Beginning. Apart from Deepika, the director plans to get top stars from Telugu and Tamil film industries on board. Deepika Padukone has been offered a leading role in the film.

Reportedly, Deepika has been approached for the role of the eldest daughter of King Ashoka. Sundar has announced the project recently and promised a ‘very big and fantastic cast’.

While the director has promised an official update on the cast to come soon, rumours strongly suggest Mahesh Babu has given his nod for the Tamil film.

Deepika is currently busy with the preparation for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The actress will make her Hollywood debut next year with XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
