Deepika Padukone is no doubt one of the most hard-working and talented girls in our B-town, which comes as no surprise when she landed a Hollywood big-budget action flick with Vin Diesel. After Deepika unveiled the trailer of her Hollywood debut on Salman’s Bigg Boss 10 opening ceremony episode, fans appreciated her Indian accent in the movie and not faking it.

From Aishwarya Rai to Priyanka Chopra to Mallika Sherawat to Sonam Kapoor, all of them were seen faking American accents when interviewed abroad. However, Deepika chose to flaunt her Indian accent in the movie and fans have loved her for this.

Speaking about it Deepika said, “For years, we have accepted the British and Australian accents, for example. So it’s high time we accept an Indian accent,” she told reporters at a special screening of the trailer last week.

“I play an Indian girl in the film, and for me, it’s a matter of great pride that I get to be myself. That is one of the aspects that drew me to the script and attracted me to do this film… I was allowed to flaunt that I am Indian,” she said.

When Deepika was asked if she was offered a non-Indian role, would her accent change? Deepika answered, “Accents will happen on project-to-project basis or role-to-role basis.”

When Priyanka Chopra started working on her American Tv series Quantico, she was slammed widely for her fake accent. PeeCee retorted by saying, “My character demanded that I have an American accent, a little bit more than my natural one! Everybody thinks I have a fake accent, anyway.”

Deepika Padukone plays the role of Serina Unger, an Indian in ‘XXX: The Return Of Xander Cage” and she is seen doing kickass stunts. The film will release on 19th Jan 2017.
