Fifteen years after it’s release, producer Deepak Mukut announces the sequel of Nayak: The Real Hero.

Producer Deepak Mukut has collaborated with Eros International to make the sequel of Nayak: The Real Hero. The best part of this news is thatMumbai Mirror the writer of super-hits like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Baahubali, K.V. Vijayendra Prasad has taken the responsibility of writing the script of the sequel and will probably complete scripting it within two to three months.

Deepak Mukut himself confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror by saying “I have bought the rights from AM Rathnam, the original producer. The sequel will be a political satire with romance as the backdrop. It will take off from where the original one left, but with a completely different story. Some characters, like the lead, Shivaji Rao, will be retained. We are yet to take a call on the casting or the director. It’ll only happen once the final script is ready. We’d love to have Anil on board if the script demands it.”

The original Nayak revolved around the story of a journalist Shivaji Rao (Anil Kapoor), who takes on a challenge posed by the chief minister of Maharashtra (Late Amrish Puri) to become the CM for 24 hours and run the state for a whole day. We are not sure yet whether the original star-cast has been approached for the sequel or not.
