On the renewal, Christina Applegate took to social media to share her thoughts on the final season announcement saying “I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so.”

It’s very rare for them to have a show that goes five, six or seven seasons. It can happen, but it’s obviously the exception. Halfway through shooting season two, an idea came to me that felt very true to the show — and I realized that it could be a really great way to end it.”

Charlie finds Judy’s Letter
After searching Judy’s room for some weed, Charlie finds the letter that his mother, Jen, had written for Judy. It’s not shown if Charlie actually read the letter, but if he has, then he will come to know about Judy’s involvement in his father’s hit-and-run death.
Once Charlie gets to know about his father’s death, he could either end up blackmailing Judy and Jen or make their life miserable.

During an interview with Deadline in July, Feldman revealed, “There was a certain point when we were in production on Season 2 when the end of the show came to me, pretty profoundly, so I realized, ‘I know the story that I have to tell’ and Season 3 feels like the right time to do that. It’s just something that came to me organically, and I tend to try to follow the gut feelings I have.”
On the renewal of the Dead to Me for season 3, Christina Applegate took to social media to share her ideas and thoughts regarding the last season’s saying, “I will miss these ladies. Lead characters played by Christina Applegate (Jen) and Linda Cardellini (Judy) will definitely come back for the third season. Many of the supporting cast like James Marsden playing the role of Ben, Steve’s semi-identical brother, will be returning as well.

Dead to Me has been honest with its delivery dates. The first two seasons debuted in May. However, due to the pandemic, the filming for the third season got delayed multiple times.
After several halts due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming for Dead to Me Season 3 started on May 7, 2021, and was supposed to be finished in August 2021. However, the filming was once again put on halt in August to prioritize Christina Applegate’s multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.
