Dangal would have done same business without Aamir Khan: Vidhu Vinod Chopra
Aamir Khan and Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has worked with Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots and PK. Both movies worked wonders at the Box Office and became ATBBs. The ace filmmaker has made a controversial statement while praising Aamir Khan’s latest release Dangal. He has said that Dangal would have done the same business without Aamir Khan. Aamir Khan’s Dangal has crossed 385 crores at the domestic Box Office thus becoming the top Bollywood grossers of all time.

Chopra was present at Dangal success party hosted by Aamir Khan and makers. While interacting with media Chopra said that Aamir Khan is not a king.

He said, “People say that Aamir Khan is king. But he is no king, the film’s story is the king. If there was Hrithik Roshan in Dangal in place of Aamir, it would have done the same business. The king of Dangal is not the producers but the audience and the story writer. Aamir has also done many films which have done poor business. It proves that story is the king, queen and everything.”

We don’t agree with you Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Aamir Khan is surely a big factor which has contributed to the success of Dangal. His face value, star power and brilliant performance have worked in the favour of the movie. Without him, Dangal would have found it difficult to even cross 250 crores.
