Dangal 2nd day box office collection in China, superb growth on Saturday

The most awaited movie of the year, Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ has finally hit the theatres today as expected it is off to an excellent opening at the Box Office. Released on 4300 screens,  the movie opened to an occupancy of around 70% in the morning shows which is a terrific start for a sports film on a normal working day. 2016 has been a poor year for Bollywood as around 90% of the movies bombed at the Box Office. Except for Salman Khan’s Sultan none of the movie was even able to cross 150 crores mark. Trade experts were expecting a big opening from Dangal and this is what exactly happened. The movie is off to a superb opening at the domestic Box Office. As per the early reports, the movie registered an average occupancy of around 70% in the morning shows on Friday.

The opening was best in Northern states like UP, Haryana and Delhi. The movie opened to Housefull shows in these centres. The local Haryanvi flavour seems to be working wonders in these regions. Mumbai also registered good opening with around 55% occupancy in the morning shows.

Other circuits like Rajasthan, Gujarat and other Central Indian states are off to an average opening.The overall occupancy in these circuits was around 40% in the morning shows. Down South, the movie is off to a great start as it is released in Tamil and Telegu. Aamir Khan last three releases were big hits in South.

Noon shows occupancy report

The occupancy in the noon shows remained same as the morning shows. The WOM is yet to come in play. The movie is performing well in northern regions like UP, Haryana and Delhi. The single screens are yet to report. These can make a lot of difference to the final numbers. It is almost sure that the movie will witness huge growth in the evening and night shows.

As expected Dangal witnessed huge growth in the evening shows. The multiplexes in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore are running to packed houses. Like morning and noon shows, the movie is performing exceptionally well in north Indian centres like Haryana, UP and Punjab. Overall, the occupancy is the evening shows was around 80%.

Dangal has taken a superb opening at the box Office. It has recorded the second highest opening of 2016 after Sultan which was released on a partial holiday. The reviews have been superb as the critics have rated it as the best film of the year. The WOM will start spreading like fire and Dangal can only grow from here. As per early estimates, the first-day collection of Dangal will be in the range of 25 to 27 crores. The movie will be among the top three opening day grossers of Aamir Khan. Dangal 1st Day Collection Report: Way Ahead

Released on 4300 screens in India, Dangal is made on a budget of 70 crores. The movie is already in profit. It has already recovered 100 crores through music and satellite rights. With superb reviews and holiday season ahead, Dangal will witness huge numbers on Saturday and Sunday. It can easily go past 90 crores mark in the first weekend. We are expecting it to be among the top 3 grossers of all time.
