As predicted by us, Aamir Khan’s Dangal has taken an excellent opening at the domestic Box Office. Released on 4300 screens across the country, the movie reported an occupancy of around 70% on its first day. Dangal 1st Day Collection: First Day Occupancy Report
Dangal registered the second highest opening of 2016 after Sultan. The overall occupancy on the first day was around 70%. The movie opened to occupancy of 60% in the morning shows. It witnessed solid growth as the day progressed. In Delhi, NCR, Punjab and Haryana circuits, the occupancy in the evening and night shows was as high as 90%.
In Mumbai, the movie reported decent numbers as the average first-day occupancy was around 60%. Overall, the occupancy on the first day is second highest of 2016 after Sultan. Sultan on its first-day registered an occupancy of 75%.

Dangal 1st day collection is the second highest of 2016. The film fall short of Sultan which earned 36.54 crores on its opening day. However, Sultan had an advantage of partial Eid holiday. As per the official numbers shared by Taran Adarsh, the first-day collection of Dangal is 29.78 crores. Dangal is Aamir Khan’s second highest opening day grosser after Dhoom 3. Talking about the highest opening day grossers of all time, Dangal will take the 8th position. It has beaten the first-day collection of PK (26.63 crores), Bang Bang (27.54 crores) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (27.25 crores).
Dangal 1st Day Collection: Way Ahead
The film has received excellent response from the audience. The reviews have been superb and most of the critics have rated it as the best movie of 2016. The advance booking for Saturday and Sunday are solid. With Christmas fever picking up, it won’t be a big surprise if the movie touches 40 crores mark on Sunday. We are expecting it to cross 100 crores in the first weekend.
