While the whole country is under 21-day lockdown to fight the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the CARES fund. Announcing the CARES fund, PM Modi tweeted that the fund will help the people of India during such distressing times in future.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who has been active spreading word about Covid-19, has donated Rs 25 crore to the PM-CARES fund. Replying to PM Modi’s tweet, Akshay tweeted, “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.”
