Chhapaak, Tanhaji 1st Weekend Box Office Report: Everyone was expecting Chhapaak to give a tough fight to Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. However, it turns out a one-way battle won by Ajay Devgn’s film.

While everyone was expecting a big between Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak and Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji, it turns out a one-way battle. Ajay Devgn‘s Tanhaji scores thrice than Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak. Let’s have a detailed look at the first weekend box office report of Chhapaak and Tanhaji.

Tanhaji first weekend collection

Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is unstoppable at the box office. After a good opening (Rs 15.10 crore), it witnessed huge growth on Saturday and Sunday to end the first weekend with the collection of Rs 60+ crore. Released on 3880 screens, the film has received exceptional reviews. The positive word of mouth is also working big time in favour of the film.

Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji set the box office on fire in its opening weekend. As per trade expert Taran Adarsh, footfalls, occupancy and numbers multiply on day 2 and day 3 owing to the positive response from the audience.

The film is running riots in Maharashtra due to local flavour. Other circuits which started on an average note witnessed big turnaround on Saturday and Sunday. The trend over the weekend ensures a solid hold on weekdays. Well, the battle is only half won as Tanhaji is a big-budget film and it has to play a long inning at the box office.

Chhapaak first weekend collection

Despite appreciation from critics and audience, Deepika Padukone‘s Chhapaak hasn’t been able to perform as per expectations. It had an average opening (Rs 4.97 crore) and failed to get the desired momentum over the weekend. The growth was decent on Saturday with collection almost touching Rs 7 crore mark. However, on Sunday, the business went up by just 7%. Chhapaak collected Rs 7.35 crore on Sunday.

The first weekend collection is Rs 19.02 crore. The minimum expectation was around Rs 25 crore. Deepika Padukone’s film will find it tough to get going on weekdays as it is a multiplex film.
