As you can see in the above table, the last four years have been poor for Eid releases. In 2020, theatres were closed due to the pandemic. In 2021 also theatres around the country were closed due to the second wave of the pandemic.

In 2022, Salman Khan had no release. Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34 and Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2 clashed at the box office. However, both movies failed to make any impact. Heropanti 2 had a better start at the box office but failed to cross even the Rs 25 Crore mark in its lifetime. Runway 34 managed to beat Heropanti 2 but the collections were on the lower side.

Salman Khan’s action entertainer, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, failed to repeat the success of his previous Eid releases.

All eyes are now on Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan and Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan. Both movies have failed to create hype before the release and it would be interesting to see how this battle unfolds on big screen.
