Box Office Report 31 May 2016: Waiting, Veerappan & Phobia Had A Low Opening Weekend

As many as four Bollywood movies of diverse genres were released on Friday, but none of them really has been able to make enough noise at the Box Office.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Veerappan despite receiving good reviews from critics got off to a poor start at the Box Office. After an average opening day with the collection of 1.79 crores, the movie witnessed some growth on Saturday and Sunday and ends up with the first weekend numbers of 5.95 crores. Since the reviews are good and WOM being on the positive side as well, we can expect Veerappan to sustain well on weekdays.

Radhika Apte’s Phobia despite being promoted well on social space got off to a terrible start. The movie managed to collect around 1.25 crores in three days, thus, become the lowest earner of the new releases.

Kalki and Naseeruddin starrer Waiting was always going to struggle. The movie got off to a poor start with the opening day collection of 27 lacs. Though the movie managed to witness some growth over the weekend but that wasn’t enough to save the day. The movie collected 1.3 crores in the first weekend.

The fourth release of the week, Fredrick struggled to get all India release.
