Last Friday, we saw a big box office clash between Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat and Kartik Aaryan starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh. Even before the release, Kartik Aaryan’s rom-com was expected to take lead at the box office. This is what exactly happened on the first weekend. Let’s have a detailed look at the first-weekend box office collection of Panipat and Pati Patni Aur Woh.

Pati Patni Aur Woh first weekend collection

Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi and Ananya starrer rom-com had a good opening weekend. The breezy entertainer has received appreciation from the critics and audience. The film had a pretty good opening as it earned Rs 9.1 crore on day 1. It witnessed good growth on Saturday and Sunday to end the first weekend on a high.

On Saturday, the film collected Rs 12.33 crore followed by around Rs 15 crore on Sunday. The first weekend total of the film stands at Rs 35+ crore. The film is expected to hold well on weekdays. I am expecting the lifetime collection to be Rs 75+ crore.

Panipat first weekend collection

Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic war drama film Panipat is a box office failure. The box office fate of the film was written on the first day when it got off to a low opening (Rs 4.12 crore). Despite receiving good reviews from the critics, the film is struggling at the box office.

The damage was done even before release as the film got trolled for its main lead (Arjun Kapoor). Despite good growth over the weekend, Panipat is al set to become one of the big flops of 2019.

After a low opening, it witnessed limited growth on Saturday and earned Rs 5.78 crore. Now on Sunday, it earned around Rs 8 crore to end the first weekend with the collection of Rs 18 crore. There is not much hope left as the budget of the film is Rs 100 crore. It should earn Rs 100 crore to be in a safe zone which is almost impossible now.

Day Box Office Collection (In Crore)
Friday (day 1) 4.12 crore
Saturday (day 2) 5.78 crore
Sunday (day 3) 8 crore
