Check the box office collection report of Tapsee Pannu’s Thappad, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot.

This week release Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Thappad’ has performed well at the box office. The film has found appreciation not only among critics but the general audience as well. As a result, the Taapsee Pannu starrer witnessed solid growth over the weekend after an average opening.

It collected Rs 3.07 crore on Friday followed by around 60% growth on Saturday. On its third day, the film collected around Rs 6.5 crore. The first weekend Thappad box office collection is Rs 15+ crore. This is a pretty good number for a film made in a constraint budget of Rs 20 crore.

After a decent opening week with the collection of Rs 44.84 crore, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ got off to a slow start in the second week. It collected Rs 2.08 crore on its second Friday. However, it recorded good growth over the weekend.

Ayushmann Khurran’s film collected Rs 3.25 crore on its 9th day followed by Rs 4 crore on Sunday. The total collection of the film after 10 days stands at Rs 54+ crore. With still some gas left in the tank, the film should cross Rs 65 crore mark in its lifetime. One more hit for Ayushmann Khurrana.

Vicky Kaushal’s horror-drama film ‘Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship’ failed to meet the expectations. After an average opening week with the collection of Rs 24.18 crore, the film hasn’t really able to sustain in the second week. It collected Rs 1.02 crore on its 8th day followed by limited growth on Saturday and Sunday. The total collection of Bhoor after 10 days stands at Rs 28+ crore. The lifetime collection would be around Rs 35 crore.

Overall, February 2020 turned out a below-average month for Bollywood. Malang, Thappad and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan were average hits. Love Aaj Kal tanked. Bhoot underperformed.
