Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a historical biopic starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jagapathi Babu and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles. The film is set in the 17th century and based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, who was the military leader of King Shivaji.

The trailer has received good response from the viewers. The film is carrying positive pre-release buzz which will definitely boost its opening day numbers. Tanhaji is a mega-budget (Rs 150 crore) film. The production scale is large. Ajay Devgn starrer is a commercial film targeted to a wider audience. The film is releasing in 3D as well.
Considering all the above points, I am expecting Tanhaji to take a good opening at the box office. The film is releasing on around 3000 screens. Even with 35% opening, Tanhaji would collect around Rs 12-13 crore on the first day.

Chhapaak is in news for the last two days thanks to Deepika’s visit to JNU. Several hashtags related to the film are trending on Twitter. The audience and divided as some of them are supporting while others are boycotting the film.
Chhapaak is a multiplex film targeting a limited audience section. We can’t expect it to take a huge opening at the box office. The will release on around 3000 screens. I am expecting it to take an average opening. The first day collection would be around Rs 6 crore. The budget if the film is around Rs 40 crore. So, it has a good chance to become a hit at the box office.
