What is the plot of Blood & Water and its upcoming season?

Blood & Water has a gripping plot. In season 1, we discover Puleng Khumalo (Ama Qamata) unintentionally stumbling upon her long-lost abducted sister at a party. After that, she went on a mission to find her sister and transfers to an elite school to confirm whether the popular star student is her sister who was abducted at birth. Fortunately, season one ended with Puleng (Ama Qamata) and Fikile (Khosi Ngema) finding out that they are actually sisters.

The first season left the fans with unanswered questions and the next season is coming to answer them all. Till now, the producers, cast and crew, none of them has given any hint about what will happen in the second season.

Now that Puleng and Fikile know that they are sisters, we can expect season 2 to explore more their past. We will get answers to complicated questions related to Fikie and Chad, Puleng and KB relationship. So, keep your fingers crossed.

Is there a Blood & Water season 2 trailer?

Netflix revealed the teaser for the second season on Aug 23, 2021. Watch it right here:

Is Blood & Water Series Based On a Real Story?

Yes, the show is inspired by a real-life incident that happened in Cape Town, South Africa. Though being a Netflix series, the show’s creators have modified it a little bit with their creativity and imagination. But the storyline remains somewhat similar to the real-life kidnapping incident.

The incident sounds unreal and it is definitely a chilling story. In 1997, two days old Zephany Nurse was abducted from a hospital in Cape Town. The family searched day and night for the missing newborn but was not found. The family had second daughter Cassidy Nurse, and she started at a new school when she met Zephany, who was going by the name Miché Solomon at the time.

Cassidy became suspicious as both the girls were similar looking. Then, they both decided to take a DNA test. After the test, it was confirmed that Miché was really Zephany, and she is indeed the sister of Cassidy. Finally, this crime incident gets a happy ending after two decades as the family is now reunited with the long-lost sister.

While we wait for the second season, you can watch Blood & Water season 1 on Netflix.
