Netflix has released the trailer of its much-awaited second season of zombie thriller Black Summer, set to arrive next month.
So, the zombies are back. Yes, the trailer of Netflix’s much-awaited Zombie thriller series ‘Black Summer’ is out now. The new season shows the survivors of the zombie apocalypse facing new challenges. This time they have to survive dangerous armies and scavengers during the winter. The official trailer synopsis reads, “Winter comes with cold-blooded new challenges during the zombie apocalypse as frantic scavengers and violent militias battle the dead and desperate.”
The trailer is terrifying and perfectly portrays the agony of what living in a zombie apocalypse would probably be like. It reminds you of winter horror movies like Dead Snow and The Invisible Man. Overall, the trailer promises a terrifying and dreadful experience.
What Black Summer is about?
Black Summer is a Zombie Apocalyptic fiction and action-thriller TV series created by Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. The series is produced by ‘The Asylum,’ the same company that produced Z Nation. The first season of Black Summer comprising of eight episodes landed on Netflix on April 11, 2019.
Set in an apocalyptic world, under the dangers of a zombie outbreak, the show follows Rose (Jaime King) who is separated from her daughter, Anna (Zoe Marlett). The show depicts the arduous journey that she must embark on with a few refugees before things get worse due to a zombie apocalypse. Black Summer is considered a prequel/spiritual reboot to Z-Nation.
Black Summer Season 2 Release Date
You don’t have to wait long for the next set of Black Summer episodes. Season 2 of the Netflix original will premiere on Thursday, June 17. All 8 episodes will arrive on the same day.

Who will be in the cast of Black Summer Season 2?
Here’s is a look at the probable star cast for season 2. You can also expect a set of new characters to appear in the coming season:
Jamie King as Rose: Being the lead character, she is confirmed to appear in Season 2. A single mother whose daughter got forfeiting at the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse. She groups up with other refugees to find her.
Justin Chu Cary as Julius James: Another significant character who is confirmed to appear in Season 2. He is a criminal who killed a soldier, ‘Spears,’ and took his identity too.
Zoe Marlett as Anna: Her appearance hasn’t been confirmed yet, though she is likely to emerge in the cast of Season 2. She is the only daughter of Rose and Patrick.

Plausible Plot of Black Summer Season 2
In the first season, we saw, in the very first episode, that Rose was separated from her daughter, Anna. That resulted in Rose joining the group of other survivors of the Zombie Apocalypse. In the last episode of the first season, we saw Rose and Anna reunites. However, the season ended with both of them standing in front of each other.
In the second season, we will surely see Rose and Julius James as the actors confirmed themselves. The second season would follow a whole new storyline. The show is about survival. This time the challenge is to survive dangerous armies and hunters during the winter.
