There were a lot of amazing performances from many of our leading actors in the year 2016. From emotional dramas to action thrillers, we saw it all and enjoyed it all. Now that the year is coming to end, it is time to pay our respect to these amazing actors. It is that time of the year again when you get to decide who deserves the title of the best Bollywood actor of 2016! The nominees are-
1. Akshay Kumar for Airlift
Akshay Kumar has not been very lucky when it comes to receiving awards but he has been giving superb performances consistently over the past few years. With Airlift, he levelled up and gave the performance of a lifetime. This movie completely belonged to Akki and he was just perfect for the role of the patriotic businessman. Could this be his lucky year?
2. Aamir Khan for Dangal
Even though Dangal is yet to release on the big screens, we all know how the movie is going to perform. Just look at Aamir Khan’s past record and you will know. How long has is been since he gave out a bad performance? The trailer was exceptionally good and we are expecting a heart-wrenching performance by Mr Perfectionist. Not to forget the kind of dedication he has put behind his physique for the movie.
3. Amitabh Bachchan for Pink
Amitabh Bachchan proved yet again why he is the Shahenshah of Bollywood with his above par performance in Pink. His portrayal of the weird old lawyer was a complete delight to watch. The girls performed well too, but Big B came out as the knight in the shining armor. He deserves all the accolades for this amazing performance.
4. Hrithik Roshan for Mohenjo Daro
Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama failed to do well at the box-office. But there was one good thing that came out of the movie and it was Hrithik Roshan. He gave one of his best performances so far and was the only saving grace of the drowning script.
5. Ranbir Kapoor for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was an out and out Karan Johar film. Among the three stars in the movie, Ranbir Kapoor was able to make his own space and shine among the crowd. He looked with Aishwarya and Anushka and shared a good chemistry with the both of them. Ranbir has established himself as the new-age romance king.
6. Salman Khan for Sultan
Salman Khan is growing as an actor with each of films and Sultan was another one of such films. Salman worked hard on his body and his acting for the movie and it was quite evident from the film. He was a revelation in the movie and his screen presence was greater than ever.
7. Shahid Kapoor for Udta Punjab
Shahid Kapoor was phenomenal in Udta Punjab, we got to see a whole new side of this talented actor. He proved his versatility to all his fans and critics, winning many hearts in the process. The character Tommy Singh will be remembered for quite some time.
8. Shah Rukh Khan for Fan
With Fan, we got to see the Shah Rukh Khan that grew up watching. His double roles of Gaurav and Aryan showed us all the shades that can possibly be seen in an actor. I have to say that he looked way better as Gaurav than as the superstar Aryan. That’s how we always like to see him!
9. Sushant Singh Rajput for M.S.Dhoni- The Untold Story
M.S. Dhoni’s biopic completely belonged to Sushant Singh Rajput. You may say that this is kind of obvious but he actually did a wonderful job in playing the role of Indian Cricket Team’s captain. Sushant not only worked hard on his acting skills, he also worked hard on the cricket field and it was all worth it. Sushant proved that he is the rising star of Bollywood.
Best Actor Of 2016: Special Mention
Irrfan Khan for Madaari
Irrfan Khan proved his mettle with yet another mind-blowing performance as the solo hero in Madaari. He was not the ideal hero but he sure turned out to be one by the end of the film. His performance was full of grief, anger and he even makes you feel all the emotions.
Manoj Bajpayee for Aligarh
Only Manoj Bajpayee could have portrayed Professor Sirus’s character in a movie with such elegance and ease. He played the troubled, depressed teacher with such elan, it is a truly scintillating performance.
Nawazzudin Siddiqui for Raman Raghav 2.0
Nawazuddin has proven his acting skills many times in the last few years and Raman Raghav was a welcome addition to that list. The way he plays the cold-blooded serial killer will give you chills.
Randeep Hooda for Sarbjit
Randeep Hooda lived up to the expectations even though the movie Sarbjit did not. He was one of the few good things that came out from the movie.
