Arcane is an anime series set in the universe of League of Legends, a popular MOBA video by Riot Games. LoL is one of the most popular video game franchises. Developed by Riot Games, the franchise reached 180 million players as announced by the company in October 2021.

The popular franchise has decided to expand the franchise beyond games and the first step in this series is an anime series set to premiere on Netflix. The company announced the anime series to celebrate LoL’s 10th anniversary. Here’s everything you need to know about the Arcane anime series.

When will Arcane be on Netflix?

Release date

Arcane is set to premiere on Saturday, Nov 6, 2021. It will be available to stream on Netflix. You can also catch the premiere on Riot Games’ Twitch channel and Arcane’s official website. It will be the first Netflix show to be broadcasted by streamers since Riot/Netflix have allowed that any streamer can share the official stream.

The first season is going to have 9 episodes of around 40 minutes each. These 9 episodes are divided into three batches of three episodes each. The first batch will release on Nov 6, 2021. The next two batches will be released on Nov 13 and Nov 20 respectively

Release Time

The first batch will land on Netflix on Saturday, November 6, 2021. It will release at 7:00 pm ET, right after the League of Legends 2021 World Championship finals between Edward Gaming and Damwon.

Generally, Netflix releases new shows and movies at 12 AM PDT (Pacific Timing). However, Arcane is an exception as Riot wants to premiere the series right after the League of Legends World Championship 2021 Finals.

What to expect from Arcane: League of Legends?

Arcane is an animated prequel to the events of League of Legends. The show depicts the growing disagreement between the utopian city of Piltover and its destitute neighbour community, Zaun.

The Netflix synopsis of the series reads:

“Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.”

Arcane will feature an extensive voice cast led by Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx, Kevin Alejandro as Jayce, and Katie Leung as Caitlyn.
