Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has received a death threat on social media recently. Known for movies like Gangs of Wasseypur, Mukkabaaz, Manmarziyaan, Ugly, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was one of the 41 signatories who wrote a letter to PM Modi over increasing cases of lynchings.
A twitter user threatened Anurag Kashyap and wrote that he has cleared his rifle and shotgun and is waiting to see him in person. Anurag Kashyap, in no time, forwarded the tweet to Mumbai Police on Twitter.

Although, the twitter user deleted his tweet but the damage was done. Mumbai Police was quick to respond to Anurag Kashyap. They wrote:
“The cyber police station has been sent the account details. Request you to file a police complaint at your nearest police station for legal action to be initiated,”

Anurag Kashyap thanked the Mumbai Police for their assistance and support. He even took a jibe at PM Modi saying that as a father he is secure now. He wrote:
“Anyways I want to thank @MumbaiPolice @MahaCyber1 @Brijeshbsingh for helping me with filing the FIR . Thank you so much for the amazing support and starting the process .Thank you @Dev_Fadnavis and thank you @narendramodi Sir. As a father I am more secure now,”

Along with Anurag Kashyap, 48 other personalities of movie industry wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi, expressing their concern over the lynchings of Muslims and Dalits and other minorities. In the letter, the personalities demanded stronger action against the culprits. The other 48 personalities include Aparna Sen, Konkana Sen Sharma, Ketan Mehta, Shyam Bengal, among others.
