Time for some real serious roles for Sonakshi Sinha. Yes, the actress who has mostly played eye candy in masala movies till Action Jackson, has decided to opt for some serious roles now.
Well, few months ago there were reports that the actress has signed Amrita Pritam biopic opposite Fawad Khan and now we hear that Apoorva Lakhia has roped in Sonakshi to play lead role in Dawood Ibhabim’s sister Haseena Parker biopic titled Haseena — The Queen of Mumbai.

The movie will be produced by Mubina Rattonsey. Haseena Parker was one of the 12 siblings of Dawood Ibrahim. She passed away in 2014 having suffered a heart attack. Sonakshi confirmed the news to TOI, “It’s a great script, a powerful role, a very intriguing story and an opportunity to play a character who is the polar opposite of me. I have always wanted to be a part of a biopic and this is the perfect one. It’s going to be extremely challenging for me and I am looking forward to it”.
Apoorva Lakhia too looked excited and told TOI “Haseena aapa was a very complex personality. I have just picked up the threads of her journey and knitted together the tapestry of her life. I was approached by Sameer Antulay with the idea and Mubina, Sonakshi and I are all set to bring her story alive”.
The movie is expected to go on floors early next year, will cover life story of Haseena Parker.
