Angrezi Medium Trailer Review: Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan is one father-daughter duo we all can relate to.

Irrfan Khan’s comeback film Angrezi Medium is one of the most-anticipated movies of 2020. Irrfan Khan had been on a long break since he was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumor in 2018. Somehow the actor managed to film the leftover parts of ‘Angrezi Medium’ in London while he was being treated in the US. Irrfan shared a heartfelt message yesterday where he talked his inability to promote the film due to continued illness. He concluded the message that his fans should wait for him. The film marks Irrfan’s comeback in Bollywood with an inspirational story of a father-daughter duo.

The two-minute fifty-second trailer is sprinkled with jolts of comedy and heart-wrenching moments between Champak and Tarika. Champak, a Mithai shop owner in Bikaner played by Irrfan Khan is a single father to a talented baby girl Tarika, played by Radhika Madan, who clears school with remarkable grades. The very first scene establishes the fact that the small-town proprietor Champak is uneducated but very proud of his daughter blessed with academic excellence.

Cut to the climax, Tarika expresses her desire to pursue higher studies at Trudford University in London to which Champak responds with flat NO. After much consideration, he agrees but when he learns about the whopping tuition fee of Rs 1 crore, his spirits come down crashing.

Champak goes from door-to-door taking up all kinds of jobs to fulfil his daughter’s dreams but ultimately fails. This unfavourable situation brews bitterness between the adorable father-daughter. Tarika even blames Champak for not providing well for her as a single parent. She misses her mom too. Enter Kareena Kapoor, the tough cop who catches Champak and frenemy Deepak Dobriyal in London for creating a ruckus. The second half of the trailer takes a serious turn as the parting father-daughter duo struggle to keep their relationship together amidst all the UK chaos.

The trailer is a gut-wrenching, very relatable and inspiring story of a father-daughter duo. Irrfan is his in natural supreme form and so are Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepak Dobriyal. Radhika Madan surprises as the ambitious little girl with London dreams. Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Tripathi and Ranvir Shorey appear for a blink-and-miss moment. A good mix of drama, comedy, emotion and excellent acting by the theatre stars is all packed in one well-edited trailer of Angrezi Medium.
