It is going to be Akshay Kumar Vs Shah Rukh Khan as their upcoming movies Rehnuma and Toilet- Ek Prem Katha will be clashing with each other.
Imtiaz Ali’s Rehnuma or The Ring features Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma while Shree Narayan Singh’s a Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will have Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the leading roles. Both the movies will be releasing on 11th August, so it going to be Akshay Kumar Vs Shah Rukh Khan on that day.
Until now, both of them have been mum about this clash but now Akshay Kumar has opened up. Here’s what he had to say about it-
“My film is coming on August 11 because it’s a big date and an opportune time. Besides, Independence Day, there is another holiday in the same week. Such long weekends can easily take two big releases. Ghayal and Dil clashed, as did Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Lagaan. Box-office clashes are professional hazards and ideally they should not have any personal implications. In a situation where we have 200 movies to be accommodated in 52 weeks, clashes have become unavoidable.”
He later laughed when he was asked whether he was going on war against SRK. Akshay Kumar is quite confident about the clash and he doesn’t seem to care much. We are sure Shah Rukh Khan feels the same. Before this, the actors locked horns when Veer Zaara and Aitraaz released together and then Don and Jaan-E-Mann released on the same date.
