Akshay Kumar is one of the few actors in Bollywood who can be credited for acting in sensible movies.
In the recent past, Akshay Kumar has given us some of the best movies of 2015 like Baby, Gabbar Is Back.. Even Akshay himself agrees that Baby and his upcoming movie Airlift are much better movies than Rowdy Rathore. But due to entertainment value, such movies do better business.
During a recent event for the promotion of Airlift, he said, “Films like Baby and Airlift Rathore have an upper limit in terms of Box Office performance. However, there will come a time when a film like Baby and Airlift will perform better than Rowdy Rathore. There will come a time when the audiences would want to watch an intelligent film over a commercial film.”
With just a week left for the release of Airlift, Khiladi Kumar opened up about the movie. According to him, “Airlift is a kind of film which would have gone in a documentary zone and not many would watch it, but I took this up as a challenge so that more people can get to know about India’s mission. There are so many things to be made and brought in front of people. This is a very risky subject, and I hope people appreciate the same.”
Akshay Kumar is also one of the busiest actors of Bollywood. After Airlift, he has two more movies lined up for 2016- Housefull 3 and Rustom. While Housefull 3 is the third installment of the Housefull series, in Rustom he will play the character of a Navy Officer. Speaking about Rustom, he said “I have already started shooting for Rustom. In fact, we even wrapped up a schedule recently. I start shooting for it again soon.”
Akshay is also expected to start shooting for Namastey England soon. He confirmed it by saying “I start shooting for Namsatey England by mid-2016. We are yet to decide a release date for the film as that will depend on how quickly do I finish shooting for the film.”
One thing is for sure- we are going to see a lot of Akshay in 2016!
