Akshay Kumar has come forward and joined hands with the state government to seize farmer suicides in Vidarbha. As a plan to create job opportunity to make families of the farmers self-sufficient, Khiladi Kumar will adopt the village with the highest cases of suicides in Yavatmal district.
Finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and Akshay had a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the plan to fight with the agrarian crisis.
“We are preparing a detailed report which will have the details of the total number of suicides in the village, the reasons for the suicides, the potential measures for the job creations. We will hand over the report prepared by the district collector to the office of the actor, who has promised us to implement it,” Mungantiwar said. H
He added, “Akshay has also assured us that he will pay a visit to the village while the scheme is being implemented.”
The minister stated that the main focus of the government is to create and provide jobs to the families of the farmers who have committed suicide.
This is not the first time Akshay has come forward to deal with the issue of the agrarian crisis. The actor has been financially assisting the farmers in dealing with the issue for the last couple of years.
