Nothing works better than sex and jingoistic nationalism, to bring the audience to the theatres. Filmmakers are releasing back-to-back movies on nationalism and patriotism, which are based on real-life incidents.

As soon as the news of amendment of Article 370 came out, netizens started circulating Akshay Kumar memes, congratulating him on getting a new script. Seems like the memes were not baseless and we might get to see a new movie based on the Kashmir issue.

Well, according to a report by The Quint Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association have informed that about 20 to 30 producers have reached out to them to register the titles Article 370 and Article 35A. Apart from these two titles, other title requests include Kashmir Hamara Hai, Dhara 370 and Dhara 35A.

Among many Anand Pandit, the producer of PM Narendra Modi’s biopic has also requested a film title related to the subject. Talking to a leading media, he said:

“I wanted to explore why one state was granted such privileges. But after the historic redrawing of our map by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I have just found the perfect ending for my film. From a film based on history, it is now going to be a historic film.”

However, this isn’t the first time that something so insensitive has happened. A few months back, when the whole country was praying for the safe return of Wing Commander Abhinandan, our desi filmmakers already had a movie script running on their minds.

So now after Balakot and Pulwama, Bollywood producers are now rushing to register the title Article 370. However, the Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association is yet to approve the applications related to these titles.
