After Giving Back-To-Back Superhits, Akshay Kumar Hikes His Fees

Akshay Kumar has a career graph that every actor dreams of. In his career of 30 years in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has never been this consistent as he is now. Akshay Kumar is now touted to be the most bankable stars of Bollywood, having given us many blockbuster and memorable performances.

While other A-listers of Bollywood take 1-2 movies a year, on the other hand, Akshay Kumar takes up 3-4 movies and wraps them within a period of 60 days.

From Holiday, that was released in 2014 to Kesari, that released this year, almost every movie has crossed the 100-crore benchmark at Box-Office. This kind of consistency is hard to find, especially when you are doing 3-4 movies every year.

Looking at his success rate, if reports are to be believed, then Akshay Kumar is reportedly charging Rs 54 crores per film now. A trade source was quoted by a leading newspaper, that read:

Akshay is fond of the number nine. When he was working on Rowdy Rathore, he billed the makers for Rs 27 crore. But that was in 2012. Now, Akshay demands a cool Rs 54 crore and gets it too.”

The source added:

“Sanjay Leela Bhansali had bankrolled Rowdy Rathore, which was directed by Prabhudheva. And when Akshay shifted the release date of Pad Man last year to get a free run for Padmaavat at the box office, he jokingly asked Bhansali to promise him a sequel. And now that the sequel is happening, the makers realize that they will need to pay him exactly double for it.”

Talking about his interesting line-up ahead, Akshay is currently busy in promoting his upcoming movie ‘Mission Mangal’. Next, he will be shooting for ‘Sooryavanshi’,  ‘Housefull’, ‘Good News’, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and the remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaththi.
