SRK And Salman Are Not My Competitors, I am Competing With Myself: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan is not competing with Salman and SRK

As Aamir Khan’s Dangal reached yet another milestone, the actor held a special video conference to celebrate the success of the movie. Aamir Khan opens up about his competition with other actors, his Hollywood plans etc. Here is an extract of the conference.

1. Aamir on his competition in Bollywood.
“I’m only competing with myself. I’m not competing with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar or anyone. There is Ajay, Hrithik, Ranbir, Ranveer – there are so many actors there who are wonderful actors. I am not a competitive person by nature.  When I see somebody’s good work, I love it. When I saw Sultan, Dabbang – I loved it! When I saw Munnabhai…. I loved Sanjay’s work. When I see Ranbir-Ranveer’s work, it really inspires me, makes me happy. I don’t find myself competing with anybody, I only compete with myself. Competing is a very strange word. I am trying to better myself. I am trying to learn and do better than what I did earlier. As a creative person, as an artist, I am trying to improve myself. So yes, I am trying to be better than what I did earlier – as a creative person, not from a business point of view.”

2. On sharing screen with Amitabh Bachchan in Thugs Of Hindostan
“We are not competing with each other. I will never see this in a competitive manner and I believe Mr. Bachchan is a much greater actor than me. I will just do what I’m supposed to do while working for the film.”

3. Aamir’s take on Bollywood awards
“For me, Dangal has already got the biggest award. The way the audience has given the love to the film, yeh sabse bada award hai mere liye. Commercial awards are of no value to me and I don’t think it will never change.”

4. Hollywood debut
“I don’t have any interest in working for Hollywood.”
