1883 Episode 7 Recap

In the 1883 Episode 7 titled ‘Lightning Yellow Hair’, the group continues the perilous journey. Elsa realizes how they have ridden over a week without seeing food through the torturous plains. Deep into the plains, the group meets two Comanche riders who they pay as it is their land. Elsa quickly befriends one of the rides, Sam. Sam gives Elsa a nickname “Lightning Yellow Hair” when she beats Sam in a horse race.

Just when everything looks settled, tornado hits. James and Margaret take cover with John. Sam returns back to rescue the group as Elsa and the other cowboys are forced to release their horses. The storm tears through the wagon train destroying every wagon except for two. As the storm intensifies and passes over Sam and Elsa, they kiss each other and make out. The members regroup after the storm settles down. Sam, meanwhile, tells Elsa she is always welcome on Comanche land.

Shea, Thomas, James, and Elsa ride out to face the bandits who have taken cattle with them. The thieves are somehow dealt with, but the group doesn’t get out unharmed. James is shot in the butt, Thomas is shot in the side, and Shea is shot in the head.

Margaret kills the last bandit who tries to steal her horse. Later that night, Margaret announces that it is her first kill. She cries thinking that she has committed a sin and only John can now reach heaven.

1883 Episode 8 Title and Expected Plot

Episode 8 of 1883 is titled The Weep of Surrender. Well, it is difficult to predict the plot. The only thing assured is that the caravan will continue to face new troubles. The title of the episode suggests that something terrible is waiting for the group. It would force the group to surrender.

The synopsis reads: Elsa makes a big decision. Shea faces doubts as winter looms. It clearly indicates that the cold and breezy winter season would be a big threat for a caravan.
