But with a butt-load of movies releasing in Bollywood every year, its almost unavoidable. With some heavyweight films clashing against each other this year and the next, lets look at the 10 Biggest Bollywood Clashes in 2015-2016 that we hope end up in a win-win situation!
1. Manjhi: The Mountain Man v/s All Is Well- 21 August 2015
Manjhi: The Mountain Man is based upon the true story of Dashrath Manjhi, the man who carved a path through a mountain using just a hammer and a chisel, played by Nawazuddin Siddique. This movie has already leaked online but it is still awaited eagerly by all. All Is Well is also set to release on the same date. Umesh Shukla is back after Oh My God!, which was very well accredited. Also we are keen to see the chemistry between Rishi Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan as father & son.
2. Katti Batti v/s Fraud Saiyaan- 18 September 2015
Katti Batti is a modern day romantic comedy with Imran Khan as a typical geeky Indian boy who falls head and toe for Kangana Ranaut, a free-spirited girl. We are really excited to see them together for the first time, the trailer was also intriguing. Another option for the day is Fraud Saiyaan which is the story of a con artist in North India who convinces women to marry him just so he can live off their money. Arshad Warsi will have 13 wives in this movie for crying out loud!
3. Kis Kisko Pyaar Kaoon v/s Calendar Girls v/s Bhaag Johnny- 25 September 2015
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon stars our very own Kapil Sharma & Elii Avram. It is a romcom directed by Abbas-Mastan and we can’t wait to see what Kapil has in store for us. Competing with KKPK are Bhaag Johnny and Calendar Girls. Bhaag Johnny is a thriller movie with Kunal Khemu in the lead. Madhur Bhandarkar’s new film Calender Girls takes a peek into the world of calendar models. After lukewarm response to his last Heroine, we expect a lot from this.
4. Dilwale v/s Bajirao Mastaani- 18 December 2015
It’s Rohit Shetty Vs Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Dilwale stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in key roles, duly awaited thanks to Kajol-SRK comeback. Bajirao Mastani on the other hand is a period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in key roles. Both directors are known for their successful films and hence this will be one of the biggest box office clashes of this year.
5. Fitoor v/s Sanam Re- 12 February 2016
Fitoor is romantic drama film produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, and is based on Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectations. Fitoor will see Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif together for the first time. Sanam Re is another romantic drama film, directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar starring Pulkit Samrat and Urvashi Rautela. It will be interesting to see which makes it big on Valentines day!
6. Azhar v/s Mirziya- 13 May 2016
Azhar is the much awaited biopic about the former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Emram Hashmi will be seen playing the role of Mohammad Azharuddin and has managed to generate a lot of buzz. On the other hand we have Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirziya is set in Rajasthan, a contemporary version of Mirza & Sahiba tragic love story starring Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan Kapoor as Mirza and debutante Saiyami Kher as Sahiba.
7. Jagga Jasoos v/s Housefull 3- 3 June 2016
Jagga Jasoos is a comedy-drama film directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Basu and Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will be seen together for the first time since they admitted their relationship. Also we expect a lot from the Barfi combo Anurag Basu and Ranbir. Housefull 3 is sequel to the successful Housefull 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon & Jacqueline Fernandez.
8. Raees v/s Sultan- Eid 2016
The Clash of The Titans!! Undoubtedly, the biggest clash in Bollywood not only due to the Salman- Shahrukh clash also because two big production houses like Excel entertainment and Yash Raj will compete against each other. Raees is a crime movie starring Shahrukh Khan and Mahirah Khan while Sultan will feature Salman as a wrestler.
9. Shivaay v/s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil- Diwali 2016
Shivaay is Ajay Devgn’s second film as director which revolves around the imperfections of Lord Shiva and how it makes him strong. The film will see a face-off with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. But Ajay Devgn is completely unperturbed by the box-office clash. It will be interesting to see which movie fares better.
10. Dangal v/s Ayan Mukherjee’s Next- Chritmas 2016
Dangal is based on the real story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his famous daughter Geeta and Babita Phogat and the relationship between them. The film has none other than The Perfectionist Aamir Khan in the lead with Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra as his daughters. At the same time Bollywood’s newest onscreen pair Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are set to hit the screen in an unnamed Karan Johar production. It will be directed by Ayaan Mukherjee & reportedly is said to be a super hero flick.
