Welcome Back 1st Day Collection: With average occupancy of around 50%, ‘Welcome Back’ collected around 15 crores on opening day as per early estimates.

Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Shruti Haasan and Paresh Rawal starer ‘Welcome Back‘ was released yesterday. One of the most awaited movie of the year, ‘Welcome Back’ is a sequel of ‘Welcome’ released in 2007. Since, Welcome was one of the big hits of its time the expectations are huge from its sequel. Though, the movie has received mixed reviews from the critics, the collection on the opening day are good as per early reports coming up.

The movie opened to occupancy of around 30% to 35% across the country in the morning shows. As the day progressed, the movie showed good rise in occupancy in the evening and late night shows. ‘Welcome Back’ performed extremely well in mass centers and single screens. The movies was housefull on single screens in mass centers like Rajasthan, Gujarat and U.P. Even in multiplexes the occupancy was quite decent.

As per early estimates, ‘Welcome Back’ collected around 15 crores on its opening day. If this figure turns out to be correct then ‘Welcome Back’ will be the second highest opening day grosser of 2015 beating the opening day collection of Varun Dhawan’s ‘ABCD 2’ which collected 14.3 crores.

The movie is benefited by the fact that it is a sequel of a super hit comedy which was a big hit of 2007. ‘Welcome Back’ is expected to grow further on weekend as its a family movie and also there is a Jamashtami holiday on Saturday in some parts of the country.
