Wazir First Weekend Box Office Report: Collections did not surge and remained average

Wazir First Sunday collection: Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan starer Wazir had an average opening weekend with the collection of 20.97 crores.

After a low opening day with the collection of 5.57 crores, Bejoy Nambiar’s Wazir witnessed decent growth on Saturday and Sunday. The movie collected 7.16 crores and 7.24 crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively to take its opening weekend collection to 20.33 crores.

Released on around 2400 screens, Wazir remained low in mass centres and single screens dominated regions. The expectations were good from Wazir but poor performance in mass centres and single screens has certainly affected its Box Office numbers. The movie performed well in high-ended multiplexes and metros like Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi.  (Read: Wazir critics reviews and rating). As per the reviews, the movie is packed with powerful performances by Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan.

After an average opening weekend, all eyes are now set on Monday as it will be a crucial day in deciding the fate of the movie. The movie needs to sustain well on Monday to gain momentum for the rest of the week.

Made on a budget of 45 crores (35 crores on production and 10 crores on marketing), the movie needs to perform well in coming days. Change in Ghayal Once Again release date comes as a boon for Wazir. Wazir will now have two weeks to take full advantage at the Box Office.
