The best thing about Khosla Ka Ghosla is its simplicity, sincerity, substance, and all the credit goes to the director Divakar Banerjee. With a simple and relatable plotline about how a man gets conned and how he takes his revenge, this movie is truly gripping. Each and every member of the cast did a wonderful job especially Boman Irani and Anupam Kher.

Matrubhoomi is one of those rare Bollywood films that come with a message on a crucial topic. The title is a perfect satire to the movie’s plot that is based on a rural area in India where there is a dearth of women. It is one of the bravest pieces of Indian cinema by Manish Jha. The movie will hit you hard, it’s not a feel-good movie but you must watch to find out the consequences of decreasing sex ratio.
Masaan makes you meet the other side of Kashi (Benaras) which is more active in the night than the day, the cremation ghats. Beautifully written and directed by the debutant director Neeraj Ghyawan, this attempt at sensible storytelling deserves all praises. It is a hard-hitting drama with realistic views on life with some wonderful performances.
Vishal Bharadwaj‘s very own version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Maqbool projects the story from the inside of a crime family. Vishal’s dialogues, script, music, and direction – everything is top-notch. Mr. and Mrs. Iyer has a very heartfelt sort of love you don’t usually see in Bollywood movies. There’s no songs, no big stars, and everything is rather subtle. This movie is a kind of fairy tale that oozes love in so many scenes. Aparna Sen has directed this film poetically and Rahul Bose, Konkana Sen Sharma simply charm you.

He turned a very simple story to a story of humanity and proves once again why he is called a master craftsman. The Lunchbox is the perfect example of a unique short story by debutant director Ritesh Batra. How two complete strangers come close to each other by means of a simple lunchbox, this is an extraordinary tale about ordinary people. Nimrat Kaur did her part beautifully, while Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are at their best!
Vikramaditya Motwane‘s Udaan is about chasing your dreams and living your life as fully as possible despite everything. The story is relatable at every step and it is simply a heart-warming tale. Aayan Boradia as Arjun did an amazing job while Ronit Roy, who played his merciless father, was excellent. You need to watch this coming-of-age film.
