The World Before Her Trailer: Two extreme sides of women empowerment in India

Presenting the official Indian trailer of The World Before Her. The World Before Her is a Canadian documentary released in 2012. Written by Nisha Pahuja, the movie showcases the two young women follow a completely divergent path in new modernizing India.

Set between the fascinating worlds of a Durga Vahini training camp and the beauty boot camp of the Miss India Pageant, the powerful 90 minutes documentary showcases the complex and conflicting environment of two young girls in India. In the movie we will see two young women from India participating in two diverging training camps – one wants to become Mis India, the other is a fierce Hindu activist training in Durga Vahini Camp.

This critically acclaimed documentary has already been screened at 125 International film festivals and has won 19 awards. Some of the major awards that it has won are the best documentary at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and the best Canadian feature at the 2012 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.

The movie is releasing in India on 6 June 2014 through PVR Director’s Rare. Presented by Anurag Kashyap in India the movie will have a theatrical release across eight cities. Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad.
