Amazon Prime Video will be soon back with the second season of The Boys. The rumors that the second season has been canceled are not true. The first season was a huge hit with 8 million total viewers in its first 10 days of release. It makes it one of the most successful original programs on Amazon Prime. The Boys is an American superhero web series based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The show is developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon.

The Boys Season 2 Cast: Will there be new heroes?
All heroes from both will return for The Boys Season 2. Karl Urban will return as Billy Butcher, along with Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara as The Female. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) will return, along with Homelander (Antony Starr), The Deep (Chace Crawford), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott).

Goran Višnjić and Claudia Doumit were cast in recurring roles for the second season. Actor and comedian Patton Oswalt will join Aya Cash, along with two other new faces playing key roles.
The teaser of the second season was released and it doesn’t reveal much about the plot. As expected there is a lot of violence and bloodshed. You get snapshots of the show’s characters.

When The Boys Season 2 is releasing?
Amazon Prime Video announced the season 2 before the release of the first season on 26 July 2019. In fact, the shooting for season 2 wrapped up in Jan 2020. The post-production work was going in full swing until it was due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The first season of The Boys premiered on 26 July 2019. Actor Karl Urban confirmed on Instagram that the show wrapped filming. His post (see above) clearly suggests that season 2 would roll out in Mid 2020. At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, show creator Kripke told Collider to expect the second season at “about the same time next year”.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke provided a brief status update on season two through Twitter. Work on The Boys Season 2 is being finished remotely. Eric Kripke tweeted, “It sounds like they are near the finish line, however, and Kripke promised that the premiere date would be announced soon — along with some “other cool s–t.”

It seems that despite coronavirus pandemic, the makers are trying their best to bring the show on time. Good news for the fans ais that the show is coming back way before than expected.
