Sunny Deol made his comeback this year with Ghayal Once Again. Now his son Karan Deol to make his debut opposite Sara Ali Khan.
Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh both made their debut with the 1983 movie Betaab. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year and it was even remade in Telugu as Samrat in 1987. Now, Sunny Deol is planning to make it again and his son Karan Deol to make his debut opposite Sara Ali Khan.
It’s very fitting that Sunny’s son and Amrita’s daughter make their debut with the remake of their father and mother’s debut film. But it seems that there may be one thing stopping Sunny from doing so. According to some sources of Indian Express, “The idea was to recreate the Betaab magic. Sunny even called up Amrita and told her he would like to cast Sara opposite Karan. However, it was not meant to be. Amrita had to turn down the offer as by then, Sara was already under contract with Dharma Productions — she will be making her debut in a film produced by Karan Johar.”
There has been no official confirmation from Dharma Productions about this, so we will have to wait for that. But if this turns out to be true, then Sunny will have to wait for Sara to get done with SOTY 2 or look for another alternative to be the lead opposite his son.
