Shuddh Desi Romance, Zanjeer 3 Days Box office Collections

Shuddh Desi Romance (SDR) is having a dream run at Indian Box office whereas the much-talked about and hyped remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1973 Zanjeer is falling drastically. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra starrer romance has received a tremendous response on a limited number of screens on Box office. On the other hand with double amount of screen count, the Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra starrer Zanjeer is loosing race with a huge margin.
Released on 1050 screens on with Zanjeer, Shuddh Desi Romance opened to a tremendous response with occupancy of around 30% – 35% in the morning shows on Friday and as the day progresses and with positive word of mouth the movie picked up really well in later shows, taking its first day collection to 6.45 crores which is a really good figure considering a new star cast and low budget of the movie. The movie showed even more improvements on Saturday and ends up with 7.15 crores, thus taking it two days total collection to 13.6 crores. The movie is expected to earn around 7 to 8 crores on Sunday(3rd day) which would make it total weekend collections to around 20 crores.

On the other hand Zanjeer,which was released on around 2100 screens in the country, opened to a terrible response on Friday.The movie was rejected by critics as well audiences all over and ends up with a feeble collection of around 3.58 crores on Friday.The movie further slumps on Saturday and managed only 2.89 crores, thus taking total 2 days collections to 6.47 crores which is a really poor show especially on 2100 screens.With such terrible response Zanjeer may ends up with only 10 crores on Sunday.

Its almost crystal clear that Parineeti Chopra has won the race this time and that too with a low budget movie released on almost half screens as compared to much hyped and talked about Zanjeer.
